Wederom een nieuw crawler scaler merk die de markt betreed.

Element RC is een nieuw dochter merk van Team Associated en gisteren hebben ze hun merk tijdens het Proline by the Fire event geïntroduceerd en ook hun eerste model.

Eerste model dat geïntroduceerd wordt is de Enduro, een RTR. De body wordt Sendero genoemd en electronica is van Reedy. Op de website staat een prijs van 349.99 euro vermeld.




Ze introduceren een nieuw soort transmissie met een in 3 keuzes aan te passen overdrive.

At the heart of the Enduro is our revolutionary Stealth(R) X gearbox. Although the exterior appears to have a conventional 3-gear transmission look, the inside is far from conventional. The Stealth(R) X features the ability to adjust the rear drive ratio independently from the front drive across three levels: stock overdrives the front end 5.7%, option 1 provides a one-to-one drive ratio front-to-rear, and option 2 overdrives the front end 11.83%.

Feeding the power to the tires are 3-piece telescopic driveshafts with an extruded aluminum center section, universal front drive axles, and hardened steel ring and pinion gears. With the Enduro drivetrain, delivering useful power will not be an issue.

We relocated the steering link assembly from the conventional location to behind the axle (BTA). This feature greatly improves approach angle and front-end clearance, making rough terrain much easier to handle.

The Enduro Trail Truck with Sendero body comes ready for adventure right out of the box, with performance-driven Reedy Power electronics. The all-new, ultra-smooth, and powerful 16-turn, 5-slot brushed crawler motor and Reedy Power SC400X electronic speed controller with T-plug connector supply ample power to this tough rig. Controlling the beast on the trail is our new 3-channel XP130 2.4GHz radio and Reedy Power high-torque 1320MG metal-gear servo.

ALL IN THE DETAILS. No trail truck would be complete without a detailed and realistic looking body. The Sendero Trail Truck is just that, with inspired styling from the 80's and 90's.

The Sendero comes equipped with a high-strength polycarbonate body that has been pre-painted to look fresh off the showroom floor. The Sendero body was designed for both looks and function, featuring a 2-piece design with increased bed depth for cargo, injection molded bumpers, windshield wipers, folding mirrors, and front grill with working LEDs.

The Sendero's pivoting side mirror design reduces the risk of losing mirrors while on trail. Drive your rig with confidence knowing it can handle navigating through tight technical rock features.

OFFICIALLY LICENSED WHEELS AND TIRES. Gripping the trail is a set of officially licensed General Grabber(TM) X3 tires molded in a high-performance, soft compound rubber. The General Grabber(TM) X3 tires are mounted on officially licensed Method 701 Trail Series beadlock wheels. No more worrying if your RTR tires will come unglued.

Het is zeker dat de markt volwassen wordt en de grote spelers zullen duidelijk de nieuwe spelers voor moeten blijven qua innovatie. Het is verder mooi dat de keuze groter wordt en wederom stapt een groter merk in de scaler / crawler markt. Team Associated staat goed bekend en het wordt interessant om te zien tot welke innovaties dit binnen alle merken gaat leiden.

Grappig element overigens is dat de doos binnenstebuiten gebruikt kan worden en dan de functie van een garage krijgt.

Er zijn plannen voor nog zeker 5-6 extra trucks, intussen is zoals verder in dit topic te zien is al een kit en nog een RTR toegevoegd aan het assortiment.

De Element RC Enduro is ontzettend aangeslagen. Vele upgrade fabrikanten zijn direct aan de slag gegaan en bieden al veel upgrades aan. Hierop heb ik een lijst aangemaakt die een overzicht geeft. Deze groeit continu, dus kijk geregeld even terug. Het overzicht staat verderop in dit topic.

Hier had Axial mee moeten komen als ze hun reet hadden willen redden. (Ipv een 1/24 speelgoedje).
In de basis is het een scx10 met nuttige features; overdrive, BTA (en dus correcte Ackermann), werkende shocks en ruimte voor een winch.
Na de hap die Traxxas, MST en RedCat uit de taart hebben genomen, kan Axial, als dit kwalitatief goed blijkt, wel inpakken (of héél snel met iets grensverleggends komen)
En kwalitatief geeft Associated wel vertrouwen.

Uit betrouwbare bron kan ik wel melden dat het goed in elkaar steekt.
En dat kan ook bijna niet anders,als Accociated zich ermee bemoeid.
Het ziet er ook gelikt uit,goeie banden ,mooie body enz. enz.
Axial heeft nu echt wel een probleem denk ik.

Ik denk dat je gelijk hebt Wouter. Ik denk zelfs dat Axial momenteel in Europa de slag al flink verloren heeft. En dat zeg ik op basis van volgende. Axial zou zeker met de nieuwe eigenaar gewoon in elke Europese hobby shop aanwezig moeten met en de auto's en de onderdelen. Iets dat al lang niet meer zo is. Op dat gebied heeft Traxxas het gewoon beter voor elkaar.

Kijk je op basis van een aantal dealers per land, dan durf ik eigenlijk zelfs de uitspraak aan te gaan dat MST het nog beter op orde heeft.

Het is mooi dat er een grote after market support is en dat word vaak ter verdediging gebracht. Maar... alleen verkoop van originele Axial onderdelen en autos brengt Axial zelf geld binnen die in ontwikkeling voor nieuwe producten kan worden gestoken. En daar lijkt het binnen Europa fout te gaan. Ook binnen Australië hoor je die geluiden. Mijn locale hobby shop wil Axial niet meer voeren omdat onderdelen aanlevering voor hun een drama is. En hij moet meer investeren als bij Traxxas.
Dus qua business model begint het mis te gaan. In mijn ogen heeft Axial meer nodig als alleen een innovatief model. Ze moeten hun business model aanpassen en met name hun distributie. En weer in elke hobby shop in de wereld aangeboden worden. En vooral ook de onderdelen. Ik verwacht dat Axial nog wel een slag gaat maken, maar zakelijk gezien zullen ze meer moeten doen als alleen innovatie. Winst zit in je marketing en distributie. De geruchten over dat Axial met een innovatie komt zijn er overigens wel.

Buiten steeds betere kloons timmeren inderdaad merken als Traxxas, Redcat, MST en zeker ook Carisma RC goed aan de weg. Nieuwkomers in de hobby kiezen niet automatisch meer voor Axial. En dat is een probleem.

Element RC lijkt zich bij dit rijtje aan te sluiten. En op een goede manier. Introductie op 1 van de belangrijkste scale events, Proline by the fire. De berichten vanuit daar via social media zijn zeer goed. Er zijn veel after market leveranciers daar aanwezig en Element RC laat iedereen met hun truck rijden. Dus qua hype leggen ze een goede bodem.

Holmes Hobbies heeft Element RC om een truck gevraagd om te testen en te ondersteunen met zijn motoren. Alle signalen zijn er dat de after market deze snel gaat ondersteunen.

Hmmm, wie kan er nu nog beter in de scaler markt stappen. Tamiya? Dat zou ook wat zijn.

Als Tamiya zijn/haar CC-tje standaard van de noodzakelijke (stuur- en link)upgrades zou voorzien en evt wat grondstelling zou kunnen winnen met aanpassing van de badkuip ertussen... En variabele wielbasis...
Heb je een prima basis voor een modernere 4x4. Hoeveel solid axles rijden er nog rond?

Wat ik persoonlijk heel gaaf vind is dat de banden mooi in de wielkasten vallen

In dit design zitten een aantal mooie features , denk dat dit idd een mooie tegenhanger voor de SCX10-2 is.
Vraag me af wat de prijs wordt en wie hem als eerste kan leveren .
